From design to clay
When I say that my earrings are slow made it’s because they really are, each batch over the course of a couple of weeks. From UK sourced Earthenware clay or clay recycled by me at home I start by cutting/hand shaping and then refining each piece before a first kiln firing to 1050 degrees.

Kiln fired for lasting quality
When they come out as hard bisque shapes each piece gets three coats of coloured non-toxic glaze before going back into the kiln for a second time. Finally I paint gold or platinum lustre glaze onto the earrings and pop them back in for another 750 degree kiln firing. Opening the kiln at this final stage is my favourite part of the process.

A Gold or Platinum dip
When life is notoriously busy, the process of making, assembling and putting earrings onto a card for you to wear forces me to slow down a little and that’s part of what I love about making and selling them to you and why I think these earrings are so unique.

What's next...
I have been playing with Ceramic rings for over a year now, making and then remaking until I'm happy with the final product. Still in development, due to launch Spring 2024!
